ehh right.. good one swamper.. :D jussst jokin!

but people are begginign to annoy me with the fact that they cannot respect the fact that it is possible for people to become offenced by somthing, even though they may deem it as perfectly acceptable :)

the only thing that offends me is that i know some ppl use this topic as an excuse to trash Marco V...:sadgreen:

and my opinion is I dont really care...it is called trance.. and anyone who is sad enough to get annoyed and wound up by " lyrics" isnt going to be the kind of person that will go out to clubs and hear it.

well i am 1 of those people who got offended. man i couldnt believe i liked this song... cause i felt it was against godd and i got a lil scared just likeing the song. but after listening to the lyrics couple of times carefully...i mean it can go both ways. if you think it affends God then it does... if you dont think then it doesnt. thats how i view it. i view it as it doesnt offend God.

amit, I dont think God (im assuming your referring to the Christian God) is offended because you like a song that might have some sacrilegious lyrics in it.

you dont have to beleive in what anyone tells you, just beleive in what _you_ want to. You dont have to beleive the girl in the song, greek mythology, buddha, or whatever, if dont want to, so dont let the song bother you. we live in a society with thousands of different religions in all corners of the earth. Everywhere you go you see all these religions. Do you get offended because theres a big bronze buddha in the chineese restraunt? Or because the movie your watching has killing/sex/stealing/all of the above? (again im assuming your Christian)

The point is, its just a song, and you can choose to either ignore the possably offensive lyrics, or not listen to it :)

I may or may not agree with what he's saying but music is still an art and people should be encouraged to express themselves freely. But I can see how a line like that could upset certain people. I think it is at least understandable.

hes talking about a man name "godd" not god! opmg u people!
amit
well nrjizer,

Lets get this str8. I am not christian. I am Sikh! And i do believe in GOD. Your God is My God. Theres no difference here!!! I dont like people say "yeh well i am talking about MY God". All the religons are the same but writtin in different ways. but its the same God. and God is Allah or Waheguru. There all the same.

ok..... u people think too much... all of u, STOP... damn man, just chill out...

Everyone is assuming the lyrics are referring to the Christian God, but the lyrics say "a God", they don't say which one. That leaves it pretty open i think.
ABTsportsline
well here's my opinion....

..the lyrics don't say "god" or "God" anywhere..... its "godd"... so for starters everyone's talking about the wrong thing...

and you can't say "well he MEANT God"... b/c you don't know what he meant....

second, HE IS ASKING A QUESTION, NOT saying that "God" is all these things.... If you ask someone if they believe in Satan, does that make *you* satanic? No! .... and i agree, anyone who gets offended by that either didn't read it correctly or likes to get pissed off easily...

And third, what someone already pointed out, it asks "do you believe in A godd?"..... not "the" god... and you can't say that all the religions (buddhism, Christianity, Muslim, etc...) have the same God and call him different names... that in itself is a belief, not a fact. Look at the Romans, Greeks... ever heard of Polytheism? Some people still believe in Polytheism...

The point has already been proven...

I think the people that are offended by this are offended b/c the word "godd" is used at all.... "the church is the only entity that can write songs about God!!".... they say... yeah, look at the hymnal.... thousands of songs that all sound the same and have the same lyrics with different notes. Perhaps if Marco V. had put the word "praise" in the song, it wouldn't be so sacriligious? The fact that we can't have a song about godd that doesn't include phrases of praise is belittling to our kind. Makes us sound like slaves, servants.... but this is all too in-depth for such a non-trivial subject. I really don't think Marco V. thought that much into this when making the song.

To all the offended: I ask you to read each line of the song and answer the questions, line by line... THEN say if you are offended.

1) Do you believe in a godd that wears a crown?
(christians? no, your god doesn't wear a crown... so answer is "NO".... )

ok, next question..
2) Do you believe in a godd that satisfies?
(christians? yes! he answers your prayers, etc....) next question... you get the point....

..and by the way, the "... Or do you believe in Me?" line is NOT offensive at all! 1) he doesn't ask "do you worship me"?.... he asks if you BELIEVE in him. Don't you believe in people when they strive for something? But you answered *NO* to this question anyway, b/c you answered "yes" to the godd that satisfies....

REMEMBER THE LYRICS ARE A QUESTION.... "OR"... "OR"... "OR"....

so my interesting judeo-christian friends, if any of you took logic 101 in school you'd remember in an "OR" arguement you cannot have two trues..... else that would be an "AND" arguement. (see: parallels with binary 1,0)

All this is of course assuming you didn't realize that the song is called "godd" and NOT "God".... and assuming that YOU are assuming its referring to a christian godd.... ;)

Anywhoo, inatrance: sounds to me you are offended..... and if you aren't (like you claim to be), you are definitely getting offended by the replies, which is even worse! don't let people's replies get to you man! It's ok to stand by your beliefs but don't get pulled into a war that isn't yours! ;)

Cheers

bah!! I hate any Trance with too many lyrics anyways.... just gimme a sweet beat..so I can move my feet. That's all I need. I don't really like this track anyways...I only play it if it's requested. The problem with too many lyrics is precisely this!!! I don't want to have to think about issues....or problems of the world when I'm dancing or partying...I just wanna love...and feel good. If I wanted to be philosophical...I'd read "MENO".

Besides isn't that what seperates TRANCE from other music.... it's ability to use as little vocals as possible...yet still be able to stimulate a feeling...or emotions with just rythms & beats??
