Hi all TA's. I am fairly new to this board but it kicks as#!
I have been playing at this club for a while that appriciates trance music instead of the regular "club" music. Now there is another club in another town that asked me to make a demo and depending on if they like it I may get another gig there.
One thing they demanded was that it had some "fun" music in it. They want the crowd to have "fun".
Now to my dilemma, what the f*ck is some "fun" songs you can play at a club? Are they refering to songs like:
Aqua - Tarzan & Jane
Dr. Bombay - SOS
Darude - Sandstorm
Or am I way off base?
I know some of those songs are old, but please help me out, I am sinking. What would you consider to be a "fun" song????
Thank you for the help!! |

First off, if somebody wanted to hear "fun songs" to me, that would be the ones that u hear that give u goosebumps and make u wanna jump and get nasty!
But, I'm assuming they want High NRG , And I'm sure u know ur music better than they do, so pick something that would make u wanna set ur beer down, jump up and start cuttin the rug.
Here dood I'll give 5 songs I would play if I wear in ur shoes.
1)Connector - Interferance (Original Mix)
2)Katana - Fancy Fair
3)Voodoo And Serano - Blood Is Pumpin (Pumpin Club Mix)
4)Michael Jackson - Billie Jean 2002 (Bushwackas Rmx)
5)Kamaya Painters - Endless Wave (Albion mix)
One thing you have to remember at local clubs where the people that go there like to dance to this type of music, but don't really listen to it other than that. Give em a couple of beers and they will dance to anything(well, almost).
Play what u like and ur in there like swimwear.:toothless :toothless |

Just go the old-school commercial stuff. Even I - as someone who takes his music pretty seriously - can go off to slightly wanky tunes like:
Groove Armada - I See You Baby (Fatboy Slim Remix) (<-- Great tune to start a set off with)
Mighty Dub Katz - Magic Carpet Ride
Mousse T - Horny
Paul Johnson - Get Get Down
Vengaboys - Up and Down
Hysteric Ego - Want Love
Run DMC - It's Like That
Felizia - Samba De Janeiro
Touch & Go - Would You
Basment Jaxx - Where's Your Head At?/Red Alert
ROOS - Instant Moments
And so on. Plus tracks with funny lyrics (i.e. swear words  ) are likely to go down a treat in commercial clubs:
Fatboy Slim - Star 69
Wayne G - Twisted
Green Velvet - Answering Machine
PQM - You Are Sleeping (maybe a bit too prog though)
Rhythm Killers - Whack Ass MF
And so on.
Just giving you a couple of ideas anyway. |

Oh, and I think by "fun songs" they really mean music that your stereotypical, indiscriminate club-faring female is likely to enjoy dancing to (so long as the girls are out there having a good time, the guys are likely to as well, regardless of what music is being played: rule #1 of commercial clubs).
So yeah. Read into that what you will. |

| Aquagen - Hard To Say I'm Sorry is a "fun" song. (I think..:toothless) |
