i figure rather than sort thru thousands of yellow pages directories, just see if you guys and girls have anything decent in mind.. thanks in advance!

no offence mate but i cringe when i hear people say stuff like this. realistically what will they actually do if he does mention this? they've never even met the guy before. hell you dont even know him. i've been put in this position so many times and i've gotten nada. humiliating for both parties i think.

ps. pro light and sound in murrembeena have a good range. pricey but.

I'm in agreeance with jizza. I hate that "mention you know me and they'll fix you up" .. fix you up with what exactly? .. all they'll say is "cool, how are they going.. oh thats nice tell them i said hello"

meanwhile you'll look like a scab in the process

No offence taken, Jizza. :) ... but don't assume that something that hasn't worked for you in one situation won't work for someone else in another. If I hadn't successfully used exactly the same approach at exactly the same place and managed to save Interview a significant amount of money, I wouldn't have suggested it in this particular case. It was also free advice, free for the taking or leaving as the recipient sees fit. :)

Many high-margin and service-oriented businesses have two sets of prices - the 'rack rate' and the 'someone who knows what they should be paying' rate. Tying yourself into a group who's had extensive dealings with the place already implies that you have some idea what rates to expect, and as such the rates often drop. In this case, with this place, as I have seen through sending others there (and originally having been sent there myself) this is indeed the case.

Very thorough! Will be paying them a visit and if, as u say, it actually works to align yourself with a big event I'll mention it. I do see where jizza is coming from, and hearing ppl say "oh say u know <> for a better price" usually it just generates a "cool" response and then they look at you till you speak again lol. But empowered with the knowledge that it has worked previously for Matt, I shall strive on! :toothless
