Back in the mid 90's when MTV used to actually play music and experiment with different genres, there was this wonderful show that was on at like 2am called AMP. It showcased electronica music videos from acid jazz to jungle, and it was excellent eye candy. It was moved to MTV2 after that came out, then shortly after the show was canned (sellout bastards)
Anyways, back when it aired in 94/95/96 i tried to record as much as possible, but then ALL my VHS tapes were all lost. I desperately want to see this show again, the music videos were crazy. Does anyone have any shows or can you point me in the right direction to find them? Format is not important, as long it is watchable and listenable. I would be forever grateful! Cheers~ |

| can't help you, only had cable tv by 98. just more proof to the ridiculous change of attitude over the years by MTV.. it used to introduce people to crazy stuff, not just purely the mainstream artists that don't get played anymore anyway, it's just pimp my ride and room raiders all day. |

so true... the AMP show was practically what got me hooked on electronic music... it was an overtly eclectic mix of music video's from electronica artists...
now and days you see, they don't see it as "profitable" so they would never even consider bringing it back, marketing it, or even trying to sell back episodes. its a sad state of the union from them, but its expected. i could tell it was coming when they moved it to MTV2 around 97/98 which back then was where they put all their bordeline unpopular (i should say un-commercial) material. they are sticks, period.
