Local gigs, hookups, newcomers ...

Hey, I was wondering if there's any like local gatherings, groups, club type things for artists (be it newbs or vets). For example, HipHop followers will have local freestyle competitions or dj sessions and whatnot ... is there anything like this for us trance lovers in Toronto?
I'm the only one in my group of family/friends that listens to trance, let alone any electronica be it house, techno, whatever ... so I always want to meet others who are interested in the same things as me ... and since i'm a newb, I would love to meet other newbs, and work with em!
Any thoughts?! :conf:

Parties yea, but I was thinking more of like hooking up and sharing each others tracks and even dualing up ... and pardon my ignorance, but what's a roll-call thread :conf:

For most events, we have a 'roll call thread'. Thats where everybody posts saying that they are coming or not. Its just so you know who is going, and maybe you can arrange a meet up or even rides in thread.
There are some local DJ competitions as well, some of which are advertised here. In terms of hooking up and sharing stuff? Im not sure how much that happens, but most of the time its done through the Promo Forums(click) on this site. I cant really say, because im not a producer/dj. |

| There are always different house parties being put on by one TA or another....if you spin then I'm sure they would be more then happy to have you on the decks and maybe even do a little duelling bangos with you. |

There are literally Thousands of gigs up music up for download there. I think that should feed your hunger for tunes :thepirate
and if you want to get involved in a scene, the best way is to come out, party, and have a good time :D
