Fearless One.

Wipeout is a cool game, and it's had some Paul Van Dyk tunes in it I think.

Killer Instinct had a really cool and spacy soundtrack. Good stuff.
but honestly. there are way too many games with EDMs in them. Especially since the game technology have advanced.

It seems like everyone's forgeting Dance Dance Revolution (I know it's chessy dance, but hey). It has trance like Lange's Drifting Away and Tenth Planet's Ghosts (Vincent de Moor Remix). DDR is why I got into the electronica scene.

I'll +1 that!! DDR was my first introduction to electronic music too! Now i've gotten into all that ...like Beatmania (that turntable game)for example.

Top gear 3000 FTW!
ahp2002
sonic 2

the second level. that tune is damn catchy.
Lunar Phase 7
Also the tunes on GTA's car radios on the dance station are sometimes cool.

Wipe out ftw though!

Yeah, the old mega man and sonic games have very cool tunes :)

But from more recent games; I love the epic tracks in the final fantasy-series. Especially FF VII has some very nice tracks. God I love that game so much... I completed it like 7 times, altough i never managed to get to lvl 100, that's way too crazy :tongue2

I also loved the Golden-Fox tune from F-ZERO on SNES

The Megaman games all have amazing soundtracks, if you haven't heard 'em you gotta check 'em out.
My personal favorites are Megaman 2, Megaman 3 and Megaman X but I really love 'em all.

See, this is where I can go berzerk, 'cause gaming OWNS and I've been doing it since I was a sperm.
I'd like to point out that some of the songs in Sonic 3 were produced by Michael Jackson, as in, they ripped off his songs (They might've worked with him though lol, otherwise he can sue their asses down to hell, yeah you get the pic).
Castlevania has awesome music too, and the two best songs I can think of is the first song in Castlevania 4 (Super Famicom/Nintendo) and Vampire Killer from... whatever.
NES has its own sound and you know it, so I'll point out some cool stuff that is really spacey and stuff.

Metroid series (Owns hard) (Check for Kraids Hideout, awesome song)
Streetgangs (aka Rivercity Ransom)
And this game... I know the name of it, I had it, and I think it's quite underground, but I don't want to tell you guys. IT'S MY GAME! STAY AWAY FROM IT! GOLLUM! GOLLUM!

I agree with you on the Megaman and Metroid music. Damn! I almost forgot about www.ocremix.org -- great place to hang if you want Megaman remixed (especially Megaman 2). ALOT of trance remixes have been done of various old-school megaman tracks.

Anyone know a good shooter (like Gradius or R-Type) with banging trancy/techno tracks?

Where can I hear Purple Motion's music?? Anything that is like Unreal's music is good for me. I believe the original soundtrack to the game (the first Unreal) was done by a guy under the name "Sandman" and he worked for a production company called "Straylight". I know he's done some other stuff, like "Eastern Rain" with Yahel. I believe that is the same guy...
