| Just wondering what everybody thinks are the best Kamaya Painters tunes? I really miss those tunes, this was trance at it's best IMO. The best tunes IMO are "Summerbreeze" and "Soft Light" coming in as a close second. Yeah I know "Endless Wave" and "Far From Over" were bigger, but those other two have a really chilled, summery feel, very timely... |

I think I liked all of them to be honest... My fav I think (if I have to choose) would be Cryptomnesia followed closely by Summerbreeze and the Albion Remix of Endless Wave.
Ahhh Tiesto's good days.. once upon a time. |

Yeah, I just downloaded Summerbreeze, and it has such a cool, laid back feel. I hope Tiesto goes back to those days, but sadly he seems to have gone techy/poppy... |

Well I hope he goes to the same quality, not the same style. When he released this stuff it was top of the line, and it's appreciated for that reason. If he were to go and release anything like it now though it would be far too basic for people to appreciate now though -- just my thought. |

Well I wouldn't call the tracks on ISOS4 anything near techno... For the most part they're still all trance. His mixing just sucks, the track selection isn't HORRID -- it just doesn't compare to anything he used to do. |

Yeah I see what your saying, I guess you can't stay the same forever. Even though this sound was quite magical. I dunno, maybe it's lost it's magic? I've always been fond of the really chilled out yet energetic..I guess you can call it "morning trance" stuff, and these two tracks really display that, esp "Soft Light", listening to that right now....some of his newer stuff is okay, but I think it would be cool if he were to work with someone and produce a few tracks that are throwbacks to the turn of the century sound, just like a little ode I guess...haha just a thought.. |

Nah man, I completely agree with you. I've always preferred this stuff, the calmer but energetic stuff is key. It's the kind of stuff I happily blast when it's summer (Or I want it to feel like summer :p )
I don't think collabs will do him any good, he's decided to go with the flow and join the housey style which the larger trance DJs & producerse have started dealin with.
Hopefully someone (I'd even be happy if it was him if his ego dropped just a tad) will release something completely mindblowing that will replace the generic trance sounds we have today. Granted though, we'll always be looking to the top tracks of the past. |

Yeah definitely, i'm looking for someone to release some mindblowing stuff like old BT's stuff, or Chicane's. I think Micro de Govia is the closest trance producer out there who truly releases "mindblowing" quality stuff IMO... |

TBH, I've enjoyed his stuff, but I rarely pay enough attention to it though I see his name all over. I like the tracks and they do bring new life to the older styles, but while I've enjoyed plenty of the new tracks (including his), I don't think anything affected me as much as hearing the classics. I'm hardly saying that things that are coming out now suck, I'm definitely looking forward to plenty, especially this year, but I'm waiting for that entirely fresh new sound to show up somewhere. |

If you like the KP sound, look into some other Benno de Goeij work from that era, in particular:
