| There was a thread about this not long ago. The short answer is no. If there's any correlation between musical tastes and intelligence it has nothing to do with the music itself, but the rarity or reputation of that music, and in the case of EDM, it requires a certain open-mindedness (especially in a hip-hop dominated world), which is something you could associate with intelligence. But it doesn't mean that someone who listens to a variety of genres is better than someone who listens to one or two kinds of music. As for classical, it's really just a snobby thing. Alot of people who like to think of themselves as better than everyone else listen to classical music even though they might not even like it, just because of the image associated with it. |
