hi there! have been playing vinyl & cd`s on my cdj-200 for a long time now. Finally I got a real club gig and I`m really looking forward to it.

Only problem is that the club got cdj-1000 and I have never ever layed my hands on them. How difficult is it to go from cdj-200 to cdj-1000? Will I have a problem?

i think it won't be problem for you... it's like going form ty tts to Technics, probably you'll need a few minutes to get use to it, but later it shouldn't be difficult at all

Don't forget, the WAH, JAH and (the third one I forgot) effects wont be there and you can't do much effects on the CDJ-1000, mostly scratch CD's and some other minor, you could always go to the club and see if you could try them out some hours or days before the gig.

if its a CDJ1000Mk2 it will be ABSOLUTELY no problem. however, should it be a 1000Mk1, well, then you'll need to adjust a bit. the Mk1 has a heavier jogwheel than any of the other Pioneer CDJs, making it the less accurate for corrections if you're used to the feather weight jogwheel of a CDJ-200.

but a good 10-15 mins on that jogwheel and you should get the hang of it.

also you might want to switch the cdj1000 to "cdj" mode so that when you nudge the top of the platter for correction purposes it will not scratch (check the button ~2 cm above pitch slider...)

you can ofcourse use the pitch bend function while in vinyl mode but then dont touch the top of the platter but use the sides of the platter instead.

other than that, you really cant go wrong with these players :)

I played witht he 1000 about oen week ago for the first time, and I had the 200.

before I played witht hem live, I went to a local store and played with the cdj 800, in a few minutes I got the hang of it.

YOu will not have the effects, so when you arte practicign with your 200, do everythign without the effects you get used to it.
and also as someon said, press the button that says Cd Mode.

They are lamost the sae, so you won't get much problems.
