50 000 errors ?
The title of an article that appeared in the Christian Awake magazine. Read it, they admit to errors in the Bible, but in the conclusion they'll maintain that it is still the authentic word of God. This is what has become Christian logic. The 1957 article has been preserved |

Strange... one fairy tale containing 50,000 mistakes is worse than another fairytale, based on the "erroneous" one.
interesting....
In computing terms, there's an expression - GIGO - garbage in, garbage out. So, if Bible contains 50000 errors, just how many errors are in Q'aran?
pft... |

Isn't there a bestseller out right now called "Misquoting Jesus"? Makes me think someone is trying to draw attention to sell books.
Sure, there may be errors in the translation and things may have been changed, but how do we know for sure? If you believe in God, then wouldn't you think that God would make sure that the Bible still contains a relevant and meaningful message? I say of course He would. |

Why don't you people read the stuff you post?

Most of these so-called errors have been corrected by modern translators. The remaining discrepancies are of an extremely minor nature, which do not appreciably affect the authenticy of the Bible text. |

The point is, the Bible is supposedly the word of God and therefore ANY errors in it, be they minor or major, are as significant as each other. In other words, if the Bible contradicts itself, which it does, then how exactly can this be taken as the word of God? And it's not the word of God even if it didn't contain mistakes! It's the word of man. Man wrote these little stories and the ones that pandered to the current beliefs of the dominant church at the time (the catholic one) made it into the Bible. Those that seemed to go against what the catholic church taught did not make it (which again further goes to highlight that the Bible is not accurate or even a true account of Jesus's life) and even then, sometimes literature would make it into the Bible that would later become considered against what the Catholic church taught and that was mysteriously 'erased' from the Bible |

BINGO!!! If you click the link below and scroll down to the video clip titled 'Bart Ehrman', he discusses this book and the reason for the countless inconsistencies in The Bible.
