Bush is certainly not the best president, but he is in no way comparable to such a monster as hitler... Not even close.

They're only comparing his power-hungry nature and thirst for power at the expense of individual liberties. They're not saying Bush wants to set up genocide camps. No one is accusing anyone of being a monster, just saying there are certain similarities between the two that should make people concerned.

Besides no one in Germany thought Hitler was a monster when they voted for him. He just scared the population into giving him power little by little, then manipulated their patriotism to make them feel good about themselves and him, and finally found a common enemy on whom he could focus the public's discontent... Sound familiar?

Abe Lincoln was also considered a tyrant at his time, much more so than Bushy.

Abraham Lincoln had a beard, wore a tophat, and always told the truth. Abe is short for Abraham. That's why they call him Honest Hairy Abe The Magnificent.

good read. The "two can play at that game" program was funny, although TIPS seems like it would cause internal turmoil and cause factions.

quote:
No. 2: Government agents can force libraries and bookstores to hand over the titles of books that you1ve purchased or borrowed and can demand the identity of anyone who has purchased or borrowed certain books. The government can also prosecute libraries and bookstores for informing you that the search occurred or even for informing you that an inquiry was made. According to ACLU staff attorney Jameel Jaffer, such "searches could extend to doctors offices, banks and other institutions which, like libraries, were previously off-limits under the law." Chris Finan, President of the American Booksellers group adds: "The refusal of the Justice Department to tell Congress how many times it has used its powers is even more unsettling because it naturally leads to the suspicion that it is using them a lot."

I don't wether the guys who say this are crackpots, but doesn't the government have some sort of stronghold over purchasers or distributers of the publications of 2600?

Ry, this is the only time that you'll see me declare my happiness that you and I are both blue.

I seriously cried that night when he won.
