| Spundae in LA is easily the best clubbing experience in the world. I haven't found any venue or atmosphere that even remotely comes close to that place. |

Honestly, bias aside, what hurts Avalon is its clientel. A bunch of snobs. Nothing compares to Spundae's clientel, at least on the west coast. Even Spundae being at Ruby Skye, which on other nights has a clientel similar to Avalon's, has brought out a much more insane, comfortable crowd than what RS ususually does.
The clientel who goes to Spundae is more of a dedicated DJ-centric clientel while Avalon just gets a bunch of snobs who want to get f'ed up or drunk.
That's not to say Avalon itself is not a great venue...just the best way to measure a venue, to me, is how the experience is when you go solo or only a couple of friends...and Avalon just sucks in that department. Spundae LA & SF are both experiences which you can truly enjoy on your own w/o the need of friends. Just the vibe, the people around you make the experience insane.

as much as i love spundae la, and avalon's set up, i appreciate the fact that clubs in sf are half the size as la clubs making it more of a intimate/personable party vibe. 700 on the main floor is plenty, an extra 1000 on top of that only makes getting around more tedious. my last time at avalon (sasha & zabiela) and last time at spundae la (boris md & armin) were both sweaty pushy meat markets. i mean i still had a blast at both but that was kind of a dark cloud over the experience. i've never seen it get that bad up here, although i'd imagine pvd @ 1015 is about as bad. |

yeah that's why i wasn't too upset about missing his last two residencies. 1015's hvac is WACK! and they have no issue with overselling fire code, or allowing firearms inside :rolleyes: |

| I've been to Spundae SOLO, in SF twice. Both times I had a blast. From what I remember it wasn't such a meat market. There was tons of hot girls there. |
