WMC Review (for those that survived)

ok, so looks like i made it back in one piece and alive. i had to leave early since i could only get a couple of days off but my adventure was a great one!
took the red eye on wednesday night and got into miami at 10 am local time and ready to go. my cousin showed me around some and then we grabed a bite and off to wet grooves to meet up with michelle, kris, john (orbital), robert, julie and carrie! and wet it was!!! it pretty much rained the whole time but who cares? it was so much fun and the vibe was great! so many people dancing in the rain to some great tracks.
so richard vission(sp) was on when i got there and then dj dan took over with a great fun set. up next was donald glaude and all his massive energy. then bad boy bill who was actually having some fun up there. and then the one we were all waiting for, eddie halliwell!!!! and of course he just destroyed us! it was so great hanging out with the djs who stayed to enjoy each others sets and mingle. second sun was there. got quite a few pics and one with each dj! yay! as i had to leave Dfuse was on the decks and rocking it out.
went back to get ready for most wanted night out at metropolis. got there around 10:30 to find a huge club decorated all crazy and fun with way too many rooms. didn't get searched and didn't even get carded, the dude just asked me if i was old enough. lol! can't remember who was on in the main room but mark lewis was on in the side room opening up nicely. made my rounds, checked everything out and then the main room started to fill up. got to meet up with the FLATA's and dark angel and mellymel. (jealous clovis?) they were all ready and psyched about B & J coming. they arrived about an hour before their set and hung out in vip. sander van dorans plane was delayed so his set was pushed back to later. once blank and jones got on they played a really great set. i have to say even better than last saturday at spundae! they were harder and as they neared the time for jOOf to come on they got more elektroy and psy-trancey which i love. they set up jOOf nicely.
and speaking of jOOf, he got there about an hour before as well and hung out with us. he is such a gracious person and so humble!!!! there were so many djs hanging out and i ended up talking to meat katie more than any of them. he is a trip and we gave each other all night long b/c he was going on at the same time jOOf was and so we went back and forth about that. pretty funny. oh well, jOOf comes on and of course i go crazy and dance my ass off. i had to take my heels off b/c i almost feel about a dozen times so off they went and i had just so much fun dancing to his set. he is always flawless and great!!!!
needless to say, major issues arose with the owner of the club and hit the fan and the night ended earlier than expected. i'm only going to say that it wasn't the promoters fault but i'm sure others can discuss the specifics if they want to here. it was still a great party and i had a blast. john fleming,lee from most wanted and the rest of us went over to the side room for afterhours to hang and get a bottle of grey goose. i can't even express how awsome it is to hang out with your favorite dj and talk to them about their music and just kick it. that was probably the hight light of my trip. then julie and i try to drive john and lee back to their hotel but you get 4 people who don't know where the hell they are going and john and lee couldn't remember where their hotel was so after a half hour of trying to find it, we decided to drop them off at a taxi and they could give the driver the address and get home that way.
after a few hours of sleep i head to the spundae pool party for more great music and fun. nice sets from kristina, cody lee and joof spun again, yay!!!! i missed sander van dorans set b/c i had to run down a few blocks to catch james holden and nic fanciuli's set at the bbq. saw bas and bunny and talked to nic for a few minutes and said i was so excited he was coming back to LA and he said he couldn't ing wait to get here, he is so excited about this night!!!! i got a pic with james and he was so funny b/c he was like, uh oh, i blinked we need to take another one :haha: he was so funny and just so nice. then back to spundae's pool party where i managed to drink way too much.
i was supposed to go to nocturnal but i found out that james zabeilia and nic fanciuli were spinning at cafeteria for FREE!!!! i couldn't pass this night up and went there and although john fleming is my fav i think this was the mother ing set of my trip!!!! for 7 hours they just killed me over and over! so amazing and james came out into the crowd and gave us copies of a new track that he and nic did together. they tag teamed so flawlessly and were just amazing to watch.
so after only a few hours of sleep in 3 days i finally hit a wall couldn't make it out saturday night to desyn :whip: i couldn't keep my eyes open and since i was leaving sunday morning i just caved and went to sleep. got home sunday around 4 pm exhausted but so glad for the experience and fun and great music. andre 3000 from outkast was on my flight, so pretty cool.
so glad to have partied with michelle, kris, carrie, robert, julie, philippe, john, jokton, bas and bunny,if only for a few minutes, and AJ, cody lee, my boy kaine, and any others i have forgotten. met a ton of cool people from all over the world. i seriously suggest if you ever get the chance, GO!! good times all round man:tongue2 |

sweetcandygirl has taken a ton and i'm sure will post them once she gets back and has had some time to rest from her trip |

i have it, but you'll have to wait until kaine brings it back from miami, i left it in there room the morning after. shold have it soon and then it's all yours! |
