Second opinion/thoughts

Long story short I need a second opinion on these ideas/choices of mine...
Basically I am a full time student keeping quite busy with school. I have both piano/guitar classes that I have been taking for years, and have been producing for the past 3 and just got my first release, and got into the realm of djing not so long ago..
Now I really would like some honest feedback from people who would take this into consideration...
I myself am a firm believer in doing things in moderation, a little bit of music, little bit of school, going to the gym blah blah blah... but with my first release I have seriously realized how much I really love and enjoy producing and composing my own music (not that I didn’t like it before, but it helped me acquire the fact that it really is heard by others and that I can truly make something of it)... it's something I really would love to see myself doing down the road..
Now this is what I’d like an opinion on...
Do you think its a good idea that I factor some minor things out of my life to create more time to elevate my true passion for 'music'... so that I have as much quality time to get somewhere with it as possible.
Lets say for instance 'discontinuing my 2 hour workouts that go 3 times a week (subtle example), and cutting it in half' so I can spare more quality time for something that might be of greater value to me down the line?
Hope you guys can see where I am getting at and I’m sure everyone has gone through with random decision such as mine, but feel free to express your opinion as I am open to any thoughts just to see what everyone else drives on. |

To keep it short, simple, and to the point... Do what makes you happy.
If you think that cutting back on a few things in your life to create more time for producing music will make you happier in the long run then do it. Put aside how much money you could possibly make and the fame and everything else. What will make you look back on your life one day and allow you to say, "Yeah, I did everything that I wanted to do and had fun doing it!"

well if you want to, im not in your position i dont know you so its kinda hard but just keep your day job and keep a wide variety of choices open so that if producing doesnt go so well then you have something to fall back on. but im sure you will do alright, seen as you already have a release.

depends on how good you are with time management. for strters from what i gather i sence that you really are pretty passionate about it so just go for it i say. you live only once, do what you think!

dude i totally know where you are coming from i remember making a progressive decision on if i wanted to take up djing because i loved music and it so much. im just going for it and not looing back, dont care if i got to work a job for a long while. thats passion isn't it?
sometimes you got to sacrifice to get somewhere most times. but see how you go then you will be able to make the right choices!;) |
