Your serotonin never actually depletes, either. MDMA works in the brain similar to the way SSRIs work. It inhibits the reuptake of serotonin once the channels are full...which they're never supposed to be in the first place. So that down you feel is not because you're depleted, it's because you've been oversaturated...and going back to "normal" now feels like a down.

100% ALL THERE totally normal guy beforehand. Now he talks to himself quite a bit and likes to just walk around alone all the time.

true story.

Bull . One of the following is true:

A)He was ed up mentally beforehand (maybe not visibly, but still ed up)
B)It wasn't acid
C)You're talking out your ass.
elFreak
you can't compare acid to mdma.

it isn't even close to being the same trip/class of drug.

this.

most "acid" these days is actually pcp passed off as acid. Pcp can lead to severe psychosis.
Silky Johnson
Yeah drugs can cause psychosis...but not a full on disorder. That stuff has to have been there in the first place. Most schizophrenics' first psychotic break is triggered by just one instance of heavy drug or alcohol abuse.

MDMA causes the brain to produce seratonin at an increased level. Because of the increased production, the seratonin uptake receptors get damaged from doing too much work. Then they can't take in seratonin, which causes the chemical to float around between the synapses and eventually turn into dopamine. Damaged receptors are one leading cause of depression. SSRIs repair those receptors, thus allowing the neurons to absorb the seratonin and put it to work.

I'm a novice when it comes to drugs I don't use.

I know his family and this is what I have been told by them. I know he did a LOT of drugs though. Just after this one night and one bad hit of acid, he became a different person.
Silky Johnson
Heh, yeah.

That's basically what I was saying.

my mistake then.

either way, like i said after you get over the hump you are fine, unless you were a spazz case to begin with.
