Is it any good, or should i get a better plugin?

It sucks nuts, which means I sometimes use it when I'm doing a "lo-fi" sound. :D
gowansy
hmmm i'm kinda after that lo-fi sound, trip-hop, down tempo stuff!

It doesn't suck, you probably just don't know how to use it appropriately. Of course it's not the most sofisticated or 'best' but it can definately be useful.

Hey, I'm still using it :)

i tried to use it, never could learn it, and i never understood compression no matter how much i read about it. i then got the waves plugins and now im using the C1 and the c4, and now i understand compression, and it makes soooooo much diffrence.

when i want to save some cpu i use it .. n it isn't bad ! but as i icoen said it is just not the best .. :)
thoughtlessjex
It's not the best, but I still use it. One just has to work around its limitations.
Thois
I think its ok, it does what a compressor should do, so...

Try this compressor, it's free and good.

I like it better than Fuity's compressor. Been using it for a while now. It has presets for each type of instrument. Not that you want to rely on presets of course, but at least you get a basic guideline as to what type of compression is used on various instruments suck as Kick, bass, vocals, ect.

The new FL multi-band compressor that comes with FL6 is MUCH better than the original FL compressor. It's actually useable.

I like to use the FL Multi Comp while working on the track and mixing, then porting the settings over to a high quality compressor like Waves, etc, when I'm finished and ready to master.

Put the compressor on any track, don't change any settings, and the sound quality immediately decreases. Take it off, immediate improvement.

Don't have this problem with any other compressor that I've used.
