I am honestly boycotting both.

I am waiting for maxell's 250gig holigraphic discs instead.

These two camps have faught too long, and now they ahve completely lost my business, and that of anybody who asks me for advice. DVDs look great im my opinion. The only thing i would ask for in the next gen formats is lossless audio tracks, and they give NO info about that.

These companies are screweing with consumers, and yet again Sony is at the front of this storm.

They lost my business, and I love buying DVDs. Ill stick with the current gen of disc, since they are just fine for my eyes.

I don't know how many HD channels exactly, but CBC HD, PBS HD (Nova ing rocks oh man), of course that Discovery HD, and the Rogers HD Preview Channel is amazing for sheer eye candy when you're drunk, hahah :D

Oh its gold. We have full time HD running from Bell at work. It looks great on the higher end TVs!! It's amazing the detail.

I'm spoiled. When I walk down here and see somebody else watching regular TV on this delicious monster I get visibly upset and start shaking, almost to the point of foaming at the mouth. It looks SO TY.

PS: I want that 65" Aquos.

best bet is to wait it out, or you'll end up like some loser with a beta vcr.

See the reason I would even consider these formats is for storage not movie function.

I would love to be able to store 50gigs on a disc, it would make backing up so much easier. The Blu-Ray discs are slated to cost about $50/disc when they come out. Ouch. With Current hard drive costs, thats way to expensive.

I know the price will come down quickly, especially for HD-DVD, but by the time it does, they will already be previewing their new format.

We should expect to see new formats every 5-7 years. Thats going to be BS.
