Annoying MC's!!! Why?!?

Hi!
Having listened to many a live set from Holland, I've noticed that there always seems to be some idiot on the microphone yelling at the crowd to "GIVE SOME RESPECT TO THE DJ!!!!" or something similar and they always do it right in the middle of the song!!!

I'm dying to know...doesn't this drive you guys crazy? It drives ME crazy and I'm just listening to it at home! Is it really necessary? Are the crowds over there so quiet and reserved that they need to be yelled at in order to get some kind of reaction?

I'm from Canada and I can tell you, if someone got on the mic here and started talking DURING a song, they'd be booed out of the club immediately!

Someone please explain. :conf:

Thank you!

why don't you ask something easy, like the string theory or world peace or whatever. to me this is a big a mystery as it is to you. i can only think of dj's wanting ovations from the crowd.
1st: dutch crowd is a spoiled little brat
2nd: we have so many dj's here, that even I have no clou who got on or off.
3rd: sometimes it's a must to have an MC overshout a DJ. like when DJ Jean get's overenthousiastic

MC-ing is a typical dutch thing.

some can get the crowd wild like MC Marxman, MC Da Silva, MC Ruffian Paul T and others.

Other MC's can be very irritating indeed but you should remember that livesets are recordings from some party somewhere in the world and sometimes MC-ing and playing is necesarry to spice up the crowd and night.
