| maybe, after hearing a hour of what sounded like the same boring track stuck on a loop, the bouncer got pissed and threw Richie's ass out :p |

at a toronto club once i drove richie from his hotel to the venue. As i tried to bring him in the bouncers started throwing a fit and actually muscled their way between richie and the door. This after talking to one of the security staff and getting permission to enter. I guess the other guys didnt see the endless dj bags and equipment he was carrying? When i announced that he was the international act they only actually listened to me after the 6th time when all the yelling and screaming had calmed down.
richie was calm about the whole thing and all he had to say about it was "ing idiots" and then he was fine about it. And played a wicked set! |

how could u get used to it? i'd probably get fed up with it to the point where i'd stop playing in cities that treated me like . maybe then the clubs would learn to put a ing leash on their bouncers |

yeah but I'm sure it happened a lot before he got big and famous too. To get to the point where it's a life of luxury it takes putting up with a lot of crap along the way. |

I can't really see it being for drugs.
As ed as richie may look i think he's too much of a perfectionist behind the decks to be spinning and doing drugs.
I could be completely wrong, but just my thoughts. |

some guys pride themselves on being perfect while on drugs. I know of a couple guys that definately 'enhance' thier states of mind while playing.
I have no idea which bracket Hawtin fits into. |

looks can be misleading. ;) I don't make assumptions until I have better grounds for them. Hair and taste in music are not always tell all signs. |

1) international djs are human, and occasionally party themselves, believe it or not. the bouncers were probably doing their job. richie hawtin is not god to everyone, or even a majority of the population, even if he did open the olympics.
2) while bouncers sometimes do abuse their control, they put him in a headlock, as opposed to stomp and kick him. if you want to blame someone, blame the club's maangement for not making the staff aware of who the DJs would be, and giving them a photo card with their pictures so they know who to give preferential treatment.
3) everything that refers to that stupid-ass "o rly owl" is ing idiotic. |
