I don't update at all, in fact I turned off the updates option. Once Windows is installed freshly, with SP1, your computer has everything you need. Updating Windows is just Microsoft's way of you coming back to their website and download unnecessary drivers that you barely need.

I update and reboot my comp as much as I can.

When I didn't update ... I got a crazy worm that forced my computer to shutdown once my DSL internet was connected to the internet.

Learned my lesson.

I only reboot once or twice each week, depending on how many programs I've installed, or if Windows Update has installed a hotfix that requires it.

BTW, I recommend, EVERY WINDOWS USER to set your automatic updates, that way you don't forget. This can NEVER be a bad thing!
