and help me!
ive got a fluorescent light fixture that i put together today...
only problem is that i was hoping i could plug it into a typical socket.
the instructions say to wire it through my wall or something along those lines that i dont want to go through the trouble of doing nor dont think i will.
what ive got are (from the ballast...):
1 black wire
1 white wire
1 green bolt for grounding
is there any way to do this and if not... how is one supposed to install it?! |

well, the black wire goes from your power source to the light, and the white wire goes back from the light to your power source. also, connect a wire from the green bolt to a metal part of your light.
hope that helps, it will be my future career (electrician):D |

you need to get a cheap three wire grounded extension cord form the hardware store
cut the female end off (the one with the holes)
and then the green wire goes to teh green bolt
white to white
black to black etc
as long as the grounds are connected then you could connect black to white, white to black if you wanted as tehy are reversible
jsut dont connect a hot to a ground
its easy as that
get some marretts for the electrical connections, screw them down on the wires,m then wrap in electrical tape for safety reasons |
