above and beyond vs gabriel and dresden (pg. 2)

as people have stated already, Above & Beyond play more epic trance, whereas Gabriel & Dresden play more progressive trance and house. if you've heard sets or productions/remixes from either duo, it's a pretty good representation of how their livesets sound, especially G&D - their live sets have that very typical G&D sound constantly running throughout the entire set.

i've seen both acts live and i wouldn't go out of my way to see either of them again.

Above & Beyond i've seen once - they played way too epic-hard-trance for me. i've enjoyed productions of theirs in the past but their liveset was quite a disappointment. they banged out a lot of hard tech trance that didn't really seem to flow very well.

Gabriel & Dresden i've seen numerous times - they're worth checking out if you dig their style, and for sheer entertainment value alone... watching Dave Dresden shoo away DJ hoes while wearing ripped plaid pants and a T-shirt 5 sizes too big for him was one of the most entertaining things i've ever witnessed.

And finding a shirt 5 sizes too big for Dave Dresden is a feat in it's own right... :haha: :haha: :haha:

A & B are NOTHING like G & D. COMPLETELY different styles. Why should you even try to compare them?

what is their other alias? also what is MC PROG?

Other alias was motorcycle i think.

McProg basically means generic music like McDonalds is generic food. (i think thats what it means?)

i would go see A&B, they play more uplifting trance. G&D play more prog trance/prog house, which i cant really see myself dancing to?!

go for Above and Beyond at the end of the month, G and D are around NYC pretty often (every few months) but this is the first time A & B are comin to NYC (if im not mistaken)...their show @ guvernment last year was supposedly the party of the year for many of the TOTAS :p

Yeah thats an awesome song :D
Go and see Above and Beyond I say, but I'm not that big a fan of G&D. I would prefer A&B music to them.
