Well, to me, ATB has its good songs, and its overated songs... i just bought the ATB feat. York - The fields of love record...and i like it alot.. great song, so to me, atb is good. But it seem's there is alot of anti-atb people here...and i dont know why really...atb is just a little more mainstream i guess or perhaps more succesful than other's...well ya

thats only my opinion though, sorry if i offended anybody..

peace out guys,
cheesenip
i don't know if people hate ATB or not.... but I guess they think his songs sound too similar.. like Til I Come, Don't Stop, and The Summer all have that.. u know ATB-sound thing... so yea, maybe that's why? i personally like all three of those songs. even if they sound the same..... :)
Suzaku
ATB, Alice Deejay, Darude

What do they all have in common?

Each of them came out with a popular track with a catchy and easily recognizable sound that has been accepted by mainstream media.

Which in it self isn't necessarily bad, I don't want to get into any underground vs. mainstream arguments here, but what each of them has also done is used that same catchy sound from their previous megahit and recycled it into a new song. I'll give those artists the benefit of the doubt and just assume they were trying to "establish their style" but to a lot of people it just sounds like they're trying to cash in by re-releasing the same old song with a bit of retuning.

I hear ATB's set at TE was much harder than normal ATB, which is good. If your sound doesn't evolve and grow, everyone will write you off as a one-hit-wonder, or I suppose in this case a one-sound-wonder.

That is so true man!

I totally agree with ya

Although i dont give artists like alice deejay and darude the "benefit of the doubt" cause they are a rip off of themselves. Copying their onw track over and over again affraid for something new and trying to make some easy money by screwing over their own stuff.

But ATB realy made progress in their music, i heard them at TE and i dont want to say that they were totally different but they sure changed a lot. Which is a good thing :)

I associate ATB with the mighty morphin power rangers ... a cheezy thing of the past that makes me cringe whenever it resurfaces. Something to tell the kids "yup I used to listen to this way back when .... "

Sorry, that's just how I feel

Ok let me take this a little bit further. ATB are a e rip off merchant with all talent. They copy, repeat, and screw tracks up right in the ear. they are some type of teeny bopper dance choon that are for top 40 type of music.agreed that fields of love is a good track - but york was involved, and since when has york done anything bad, em... NEVER! atb are flamed constantly because of their recognised repetiveness and 'trying' to include themselves in a genre that they are far from. a albumn with 4 minute tracks, which sound more like samples from my mixer. and of course the albumn title says it all.. 'Movin melodies' - OMFG! ROFL! LOL! etc i wont even go into that one! its a good job you didnt post this one in the general discussion or this would have been flooded in seconds with posts! please dont ask anything to do with the topic in the future - its impossible for anyone claiming to be a trance lover to like this music. Once youve heard trance (good trance)- how the can u like ATB!!! for christ sake! aarrghhhh - ok i ve said my bit- anyone else got anything to add to this!

I'll add what... It really is the sign of a weak, single-minded person to persuade the others to agree with his likes or dislikes. What do you mean by good trance? And then go ask Paul Oakenfold, what he means by good trance. And then ask Judge Jules, what he means by good trance. ANd all the three answers will be different (unless you are so totally crazy into any of them that you only listen to what they listen to)... Figured?
