why are some foods so overpriced?
i just ordered some jalepeno poppers from allstar wings (best place in the gta for wings) and they are so damn expensive. the average place sells them for about a dollar each! two bites and one is gone!

another item that i find to be *extremely* overpriced are salads. any type of salad. come on, its just ing lettuce! you can buy a head of lettuce for less than a dollar and make a few salads with it.

chickens only have 2:p

salad is expensive 2...buy produce in winter and it aint cheap.
add the money you have to pay le saladier...they know if you want it you will pay.

thanks, mr obvious.
but why is the markup on those items so much higher than, say, a steak?

markup for a steak is almost never more than 100%. but the markup on a salad is like 800%.

thats probably because the drugs go through so many hands until they actually get into yours.

i dont complain about the prices that i pay though.

you dont have to prep a steak....age, cut and thats it.

a restaurant will make more $$$ on salad because it is simply ordered more.Even at steak houses...

a saldier is a term used in english as well to describe a sald chef.

The ritzier the restaurant the more likely they will have one. There is more to salad then just ceasar and house.
