Which do most of you use, and would recommend to a wannabe producer. (beginner)
best value for money
long lasting (beginner - Advanced)
VST compatability?
Etc?

Try the demos of each and see which you like most. Reason has no vst capability. FL and Cubase I think are the most popular on the forum. I'm being nice by not flaming you because this question gets asked about 100 thousand times all the time. I use FL6 and love it. I'll probably move to Cubase soon when I have the time, but I really want to learn Ableton. Testing the demos is always the best way to see how it fits you. |

switched from fl to cubase/reason two weeks ago and i like it very much, the sound is much better.
only thing is i had to get used to the sequencer and use of effects,
which all comes down on the same thing as fl.
just a little bit more complicated.
but i`m glad i`ve made the step.
(but there`s still much to learn) |

personally, i don't think it really matters what you use. i've heard AWESOME music from Reason AND FL Studio. sounds just as good as any track i've heard made in Cubase or Logic. the main difference between all the big sequencers is the GUI and workflow. Live and FL promote a different kind of workflow than say Cubase or Reason (and those 2 differ from each other as well). the "best" sequencer, for you, will be the one that you can work best in because you (and everyone else) have a completely different way of working than me. |

What in Bob's holy name do you mean by that?
My good friend James Wood (wandii) is getting his songs released. All of wich are made in FL Studio.
Pfffft... "Wannabe producers..."
Stop judging software you obviously DON'T know.
Abelton is definitly NOT the way to go if you're a beginner. It's really complex and lacks all the user friendlyness of FL Studio and partly Reason. If you're experienced, then Abelton might be a good upgrade from let's say Reason |
