Okay! Welcome back :D
I bring you fresh banging and pumping music with my new mix set. I think it is exactly what I would play on a big event like TE (if I was supposed to ;) ) If it comes to mixing, I've followed some advices on how to mix in a harmonic way (Thanks to Pepa for spending all evening on this :* ). I've practiced on figuring out the keys of the tracks. Track order was highly determined by the keys that I've found. Only minor changes were applied - just to achieve a well build set. Simply: track order was first on the paper. But let's have a detailed look on it:

Story teller:
Renaissance is a great tune to start. Really grabs your attention. Then comes Pumpkin and after that - On Your Mind which makes you want to dance. Jan Loper's track is a real floor killer. On the other hand Metro and Bully have awesome build ups and emanate with energy. With Sandra Flyn you're again crazy on the floor. Here comes my mash-up which turned out to be quite sexy. Tell me what you think. Following Inertia harmonizes nicely with it. When you're totally exhausted, things become more soft: immortal Incognition and also not new Ocean Rain. Amnesia should soften your nerves... And then, out of the blue... Vendetta comes with huge boost! omg I don't know what I like about this track, but i can't stop shaking my head :D As we're aiming to the end of the set, next tracks are meant to suck your sweat to the last drop ;) Electro Shock is really wicked... as well as Martin Roth's remix of Eastern Sea. But the piano melody is somehow sentimental and therefore it suits here, as the last track.

| Thank you for your high scores JohnPaullino. I also feel that transitions and levels are not perfect and some could have been improved. Your accurate marks means that you've payed a lot of attention to my mix and I'm really grateful. |

I’d love to share the sentiment you had with my set, but I have to stay true to myself so here goes: The flow is impeccable as always and overall your choice of music does not disappoint. On the technical side of things, I was expecting some sort of build, but you went straight to the point. That’s not a bad approach, many dj’s do it, but listening to straight uplifting trance the entire hour can get kind of boring. As far as the creative touches you contributed to the set, they are very professional and fit very inconspicuously in your mix. My final thoughts on this mix are rather mixed because as I enjoyed this set for its energy and smooth transitions, on the other hand I would’ve loved to hear you take more risks with your mixing. All in all, I look forward to final installment (cd 3) of your three part series. |

BUMP. :D
Great set Mon-Soon. Another good job on achieving a particular result by focusing on a theme. Your mixes for the most part are very elemental; what I mean by that is that each one has a particular running theme and a unique effect. I enjoy your mixes immensly. That's all I can say.
The mixing and transitions are good. Track selection is excellent. Only complaint I really could say was that it seemed to loose some steam about halfway through. Some of the tracks seemed to overshadow each other as you really jampacked the set with peak-time tunes. This is something I usually dispize, as I prefer to build anticipation more, but overall this set is very entertaining and a very worthwhile listen. I just enjoyed the excellent energy and theme. Great work Mon-Soon, keep it up. :) |
