More and more people are buying and loving Macs. To make this choice simply irresistible, Apple will include technology in the next major release of Mac OS X, Leopard, that lets you install and run the Windows XP operating system on your Mac. Called Boot Camp (for now), you can download a public beta today.

I might try out a mac! hmmm.

can't wait to get me an intelapple tower.

"Windows" doesn't approve anything, Microsoft can't stop anybody from loading their operating system on any computer that is capable. The architecture is the same. Apple has decided to provide Windows drivers for their components inside the machine. :)

That's sweet. But I also like this one... You don't need to reboot to launch windows, you can run both Os's side by side.

"Parallels released their Windows virtualization solution for the Intel Mac today. The product is called Parallels Workstation 2.1 Beta and a free fully functional copy is available for download now.

Unlike Apple's Boot Camp solution which was released yesterday, Parallels solution allows you to run Windows XP (and other Intel-based operating systems) from within Mac OS X. Rebooting or Dual Booting is not required. This allows users to maintain their daily environment while also being able to use any desired Windows applications. It is only available for the Intel Macs and should provide near-native performance."

i think this has been out for a while now cause my friend was using it a few months ago.

one reason why apple started using intel is because they wanted it to be convenient if running things on windows mode.

at least theres a competition now between PC and MAC.

this official release of Boot Camp is great to invest money in apple stocks. hopefully the lawsuits against them stops soon though.

apple stock is golden. M$ft is gonna be hurt by this not to mention even more by the delay of vista.

Oh man this instantly makes my next computer a Intel-based Mac laptop...so I can use Ableton or whatever on it (as it runs much more smoothly on a Mac that it does on a PC) and video/graphic stuff (at work) and then can use Windows stuff for other random things.

What makes me most excited is how Windows will run 100% native. Being Windows, even a small drop-off from being native is probably huge in the end. :)
