ableton really allows 'on the fly' versions of your tracks during live mixing/sets. i saw a vid of airwave performing on ableton and it was awsome. he was playing with his and other peoples tracks a lot. and bringing little snippets in here and there.

i have heared some brilliant rmx's done using ableton aswell.

i have yet to try ableton properly tho. i wouldnt use it to mix tracks in a club. but might use it during productions..

if i were you id get ableton. im cubase and love it. but have heared some nifty work on ableton.

My impression of Live is that it's good for jamming and performing, but it's not so fun to write in. It's just not designed for that.

Ultimately, though, thinking about it in terms of "better or worse" is misleading. Whatever suits your style is better for you.

true.
its not what you use but how you use it..!:D

WTF

When?.. is this topic goning to be over!

"It is not the pen that draw the pic"

I don't like this "with host is the best!" is all about how comfort you are i in your host,
------------------------------------

Live is just gret for jamming live and stuff like that, more and more dj use it instead off vinyl and cd i just love to spinn in it, everythink just "run" :)

but the seq part in live relly suck I think , but i think all host seq suck if you comparit with logics :P

over and out!
Airbase
Its a common misconception that ableton would be difficult to produce in rather than just jamming or playing liveshows. Its the fastest and the most userfriendly sequencer I've been working with so far. I still have no exensive experience with Cubase and no experience at all with FL, but from what I've seen, Ableton still shows off some great features I've been missing for a long time in pretty much every good sequencer app.

Get the demo, give it a few days, check the built in lessons, and you'll all see what its about.

^^^^there ARE several features lacking in ableton that i used to use alot in FL. but the other features it has makes up for it...

On a whim I bought Live 5 about a year ago and have finally fully migrated over to it. In a nutshell, it's an amazing piece of software that makes composition easy and fun, and I'd still consider myself an amateur with it at best.

The combo of Live5 and the virusTI have really rejuvinated my desire to make music. Can't wait to finish off the tracks I'm working on atm.
