This is just incredible the amount of parties and talent being lined up for Toronto shows this winter/spring. I can't keep up with it all! ;) What do you all think about it? Is this how it's going to be here in Toronto, think it's just a phaze or is this what we have coming from now on?

I'm liking it :)

Here is a proven fact.

I've talked to alot of promoters and club owners about this issue ...

DJs are easier to book for the months of FEB-MAY and it's alot cheaper. Compaired to summer ... the cost of gettin' a superstar can be more then one can explain and the amount of ppl trying to book these guys are insane. Booking headliners on weekdays are alot cheaper ... some DJ's in the summer have upto 3 gigs in 1 day on a FRI or SAT in different countries. I remember seeing on the flyer when Sasha was here at Meow. He had *on 1 NYE* 2 Gigs in the UK and then flying to NYC right after. And Venues are alot easier to get, due to the fact that most of them are not used for anything and the owners need cash. (For Raves and some Clubbs that are not used much of Winter. EXAMPLE: CNE,Atlantis and the Docks)

For the upcoming months ... keep your eyes out for all the Solid headliners coming to Toronto in all the genres in our scene.

FLASH back to the GUV's 5 year anniversary ... they paid Tiesto 3X the amount of his reg offers on that SAT and *not confirmed* most likely made him cancel that gig somewhere else to be here that night.

I remember when I first started the scene ... alot of nights at parties during the winters, I've always start to think to myself "why are all the good parties in the winter?"

Now I know ... NYEs and Summers, Toronto is always slow for International DJs headlining at parties.

It happens every year ...it's a cycle.

I'm really happy this is happening...the scene is really evolving...it's also nice that I turn 19 in 2k2, so I'll be able to finally experience these parties...but damn, from the looks of things, I'm missing out on a lot of good parties in early 2k2, like Corsten, Bond, Wintergalactic and Van Buuren. But, after April 17th...it's all over..... :D

I'm very impressed with the direction the scene is heading this year. Toronto is bringing in such amazing talent in really good venues and I'm lovin' it. The new year has just started and the line up has already been incredible. I can't wait to see what is planned for the summertime. Oh, and I hope more events will be 19+ (sorry younger crowd).;) :) ;)
