Lets say Desyn decided to cancel.
It's still 99% Dirtymontreal's fault.
The first time this happened, I can live with, the second time is an insult to all of us who were planning on spending money, even more so it is an INSULT that you did not warn us earlier this evening and that we had to rely on ing heresay to prevent us from wasting our money to go see a DJ who wasnt going to show up.
If you guys got the short end of the Masiello stick back in March, fine, but the fact is if you throw a "Make-up" party, BE DAMN SURE THE DJ WILL BE THERE 100% NO EXCUSES!!!
Every club/promotional company in this city should feel ing ashamed of themselves when they have to rely on deception to bring party-goers, especially when most of us have spent so much money on the parties all you promoters throw, we deserve some honesty. Im not really going to blame you fully for Desyn not showing up, more for that fact that there was no official announcement that he wasnt going to be coming, IE: From dirtymontreal. I asked for guestlist, could you not have emailed me to tell me hours before the event? Or were you so bent on getting my $10 that you were just going to let me show up and pay for a DJ who isnt there?
I understand hardwork is put into throwing a party, as I am helping to put one together aswell, but despite the difficulty of party-throwing I think the promoters should take into consideration their clients, and not ing withold from us just to get our money, not even sure that's legal.
Get bent dirtymontreal, I'm officially boycotting your parties, even if you bring the entire WMC line-up to my house and bake me a cake.

Dirty has brought some good names...yes it looks bad for them, but i still dont think they would do it on purpose twice.
That being said any respect I had for Desyn is gone.

The official press release from his management will be available tomorrow and we will put it up here for you guys.
The Dirty crew are so sorry (again!!!!) about this. We only found out about it when the night had already started. We are as shocked about this as you guys are. So sorry for all the people that made the trip here from New York, Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto.
We got Vivie-Ann out of the studio the last second to fill in. Thanks babe I know you are busy.
More news will be posted as it becomes available.

Take a chill pill guys. Just imagine how we feel right now? Our deposit is just sitting in someones account when it could be put to other uses. Needless to say Desyn is not going to be re-booked by us any time soon. However, in Ibiza last year he didn't let us down, nor did Chus & Ceballos, Steve Porter, Paolo Mojo, and all the others that played for DIrty over the summer. We understand the credibility of the bookings has taken a hit. All we want to do is bring a certain sound to Montreal that is being ignored right now.

Ok first off i would like to say at how disapointed i am with desyn not showing up for the gig a second time in 5 weeks, but on the other HAND im ashamed to see HoW vulger some of the reactions were from some of you guys. there is a valid reason why he may not have showed up FINE!!!! BUT sitting there and trashing the dirty crew after all the fantastic nights they put together and THE MANY MORE TO COME giving montreal a solid night to party with some of the worlds top djs is more then enough. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE DJ ON A HIGH PASS RECIEVER TRACKING HIM EVERY STEP OF THE WAY THEY DO NOT KNOW IF HE GETS ON HIS FLIGHT.
Sure you are pissed off i would be too but this is not dirty's fault NOT ONE BIT it just happens. if they said anything at 11 oclock when they found out it would not have made difference cuz the fact of the matter is he still did not show. DIRTY IS a solid and smart promotional team with only better parties comming for you all and trashing them is absolute disrespect to those giving a service to the party goers.
and besides the fact that they were quick to get replacements like sultan last time who destroyed it and then Vivie-Ann who made it out of the studio to play is quick recovery (by the way you guys missed out on a solid night Vivie-Ann rocked it and then i got a chance to drop a quick 45minute teaser and the place was going off.
So please, be respectfull and show some appreciation for the effort that is being done.
Kudos to everyone who made it out tonight and Vivie-Ann and the rest of the crew for rocking it hard

in nyc - people will bitch and moan, but the last laugh is always had by the booking agency and the venue because ultimately you will be back to see one of their DJs and if not, I'm sure you not attending doesn't dramatically affect their revenue. I'm just saying you people need to take it easy on these guys, they do a hell of a lot of work bringing the talent in and based on certain circumstances, this make-up gig didn't go through. I'm sure dirtymontreal and desyn did not intentionally plan this to rob all you people so relax a little and be undertanding. It's the fact of the matter - it happens and it's beyond anyone's control, ultimately the discretion is at the DJs themselves. Dirty did say Desyn will post a public statement about this, I'm sure he intended on doing the gig and if he didn't he knows his reputation is at stake if he didn't inform anyone.
Just my 2cents guys, from NYC and will probably check out Desyn tonight, if he doesn't show, I'm not going to kill him for it. Ease up and understand, the last thing these booking agencies and DJs need is external pressure to play for certain cities and people. Give them the benefit of the doubt! |
