Hey,
Just wondering where the nicest place in south america would be for winter months (there)!!!
Off course, the main cities like buenos aires, quito, and santiago come to mind, but I don't know which cities would have the most to offer and where it is the easiest to travel around once you're there.
Suggestions most welcome.

Go to lima! The dance music scene there in the summer months is amazing (dec-april-ish)
Unless you mean North american summer in which case dont go to Lima because its got nasty weather there right now. I'm actually going there mid june.
I would reccomend Costa Rica for North american summer months, that place is truly incredible, so much to do, and its a fairly small country that going from one coast to another isnt even a days trip- also great waves on the west coast.. and warm water! I know its central american, but same dif.
Quite is a gorgeous mountain city with a lot to do, if you like hiking and whatnot, take a trip to cotopaxi, the tallest active (dont worry it wont explode though) volcano in the world.. chekc out Mindo, the cloud forest as well, also an amazing place. Good beaches as well. Casablanca is gorgeous, long drive from quito though, like 8 hours on a horrible road!
BA is good, but fairly expensive, for a week or so it wouldbe great i think as a tourist, but you should also check out Patagonia and Bariloche.

Next year i'm going one month in Guatemala or Equador(I don't know yet) and then I plan to go to South America.
Does anyone knows what happen of interesting during the months of july? |
