[Review] Roger Sanchez killed it! (pg. 2)

Last night was great... besides the insane line to get in..
Once inside the curtin was down.. and the music was too booty shakerish for us..so we chilled upstairs until Roger came on.
Roger gets on..the stage is set up like a circus booth or something.. I love how Avalon always changes that up!
We found a good spot in\near the front and danced all night long!
I kinda felt like I was in Miami with all the tribal house beats.. I LOVED IT! I have never seen him before last night... He definately didn't dissapoint! I liked the girls with the feathers and jewel bras... I thought they were fit and added something sexy to the show. But the two girlies in nightys.. ..um...no thanks!
Des of course dancing it up hardcore! Great Energy!
I don't know what time it was exactly..but I think somewhere around 6am we decided it was time to go.."Club bed", as Michelle would say was calling our names!
I can't wait to see Roger again!!:happy2: |

i agree with you all the way on this one. i put my revfiew in the wrong thread oops :P
the props were realaly cool, and bright. the light wall looked awesome as always. roger was just ggoing nuts for hoursq@!!!!! and it definitely did feeel kinda like miami1!!
roger rocked it like he wa ssupposed to, cant wait til he plays in 3 months.:D
and i agree about the dancers too, they lookeds prtty good last night, the only complaint we had is that one who was standing in the middle right in front of roger almost the whole night!!!!! WTFFFFFFFFFFF?!?!?? move bitch!!!:whip: |

ps: next time some dude tries to grab you, slap him hard in the face. nothing like public humiliation, i'll bet he relocates to the other side of the dancefloor real quick :toothless |

Although her sets always get cut short due to technical difficulties it seems. |

I'm glad to hear Sanchez did better on Saturday night. I love the S man but I was really disappointed at his set in SD. There was no flow and half of the songs were so weird we just stood there like WTF?! After hearing him for 2 1/2 hours we decided to leave.... :( (What was up with the super-sticky floors at the venue?? :mad: )
BTW, the last song we heard Sanchez play was Eddie Murphy's "Party all the time" :tongue2

Hey guys!!! Well I danced to Roger on Friday in San Diego, it was alittle slow with the crowd, but still had loads of fun!!! It was great meeting you Technofriik, I have to admit though, when I'm dancing I'm kind of in lala land for abit. But I do remember you coming up to me, yay!!!
Saturday it was just packed at Avalon. Mind you all though, I drove up from Diezel @ House of Blues in San Diego! I danced long sets down there to Beej who kept the dropping wicked tracks and everytime I wanted to take a breather, another good track would come on and so I just kept going. When I got to Avaland, I was drained (plus I didn't have time to stop to grab a quick bite to rejuvenate). It was soooo packed and so hot at Avalon, but the crowd and vibe was insane!!! I had a few peeps come up to me from the SD gig and a couple TA's. Good times!!
Now this weekend is DEEP DISH w/ Sharam and BT at LOVE! I better see a good amount of TA's there. Gotta make LOVE the best thing to hit San Diego!!! |

How can you miss me nerd???? I'm on stage!!!!!!!! I danced until about 6:30am, sheesh!!! Any afterhours there, I'm there unless otherwise. AHP with Donald Glaude 29th, I should be there and I may hit up spundae this sat around 2am, who knows.

as previously stated the comp line was stupid slow and packed and it was cold and i had to pee for like an hour, so much that it hurt. so michelle makes a run into honey, attached to avalon, and she gets lucky and finds us a bathroom, yay, saved! back to the impossible line.
anyways, we finally get in and make our rounds to get a drink and go upstairs to chill to the music until roger comes on.
and then about midnight, bam, the party started. i had heard so many great things about him and had yet to experience his excellence in house music! avalon looked good, i loved the mardi gras theme and the carnival dancers were so great. but of course the best thing was roger, i have not seen a dj yet who goes as crazy dancing behind the decks than roger, lee burridge may come close but roger definitley wins. the way he drops in his mixes and that bass with that underling dancey vibe is just great. very different from what i have experienced so far and i loved it! he was just on fire pretty much the whole night.
i wore a shirt that said "Last night a dj saved my life" with Jesus behind the decks and i wore it b/c i wanted him to drop that remix he has of that song so i got his attention and he saw the shirt and he got a big grin and then blew me a kiss but never dropped the track while i was there :mad: but hey it's all good, i was totally dancing all night long and so was everyone else. from about midnight until 4 am i was pretty much front and center dancing and having a blast with michelle, kris and julie. what great music and so much fun.
michelle disappears for a bit to take pics and kris, julie and i kinda hit a wall and begin to wander. the music kinda lost a little punch about that time and mellowed out some so upstairs we went, the music was pretty chill upstairs and then we made the mistake of going into the spider room which should be renamed the sauna room, packed with all kinds of crackheads but they sure were having fun.
back downstairs to run into robert who popped back in and AJ. good to see simon in line but we lost him right after that, wtf??? where did you go? also good to see xenpro and his girl, bob, TSG, ksky, leeann, and any others i am missing. bas, bunny, darkside, i totally missed you guys. it's hard to bare avalon without you :nervous: but the crowd and vibe was actually pretty good that night. a few washers but i have learned to use my elbows alot more and they tend to move back after that. desiree, always a pleasure to watch you dance since no one else on that stage could find a beat. and wtf with the 2 girls they let stand right in front of roger to grind on each other, off beat mind you. oh well.
we started to get really tired b/c we kept running into that wall and were ready to go when all of a sudden around 5:30 roger drops this sick track with male vocals and i just go crazy and run to the dance floor with kris and julie in tow. i couldn't leave then and my energy came right back. then right after that track he drops another crazy one, and i was like, man he's killing me. but then by 6:00 am the crew was ready to go and i had to be up at 8 am to go to a photography exhibit in santa monica, ashes and snow, which i highly recommend btw!
all in all a great night, seriously incredible music, great friends, and a cool vibe, wait, did i just say cool vibe about avalon. j/k, it's not so bad. i just like to give it .
oh i enjoyed watching bad boy bill standing on stage taking notes from roger on how to act behind the decks, seriously, they couldn't have more different styles :tongue2
