my mom had it done, you can have it reversed, i think its a "easy" surgery but dont you want to have kids down the road? |
Reversals are said to be about 20% successfull. The surgery is not extremely complicated, however, the after effects can be severe.
I want to have children, but I would like to adopt. |

What do you need this for? Are you a whore or something? Come on, even thinking about something like this is incredibly dumb. |
I am a little offended that you assume my reasoning would be dumb. I love children, and would one day love to be a mom to children I have adopted. I am nearly 100% sure that having a child naturally is not something I want, given the consideration that there are hundreds, if not thousands of children that are waiting to be adopted, and many of which live their entire lives in foster care, or adoption agencies. Why would I want to bring a child into this world on my own account when I know there are many out there that would give anything for the chance to have a loving family?
Not to mention that I am aware of and very concerned of the over-population problems, the lack of resources etc. I would be nothing but a hypocrite if I contributed to this.
Perhaps now in my life isn't the best time to follow through with a procedure. I think in the end I would hope that the man I marry would agree with me in this, and be willing to do a vasectomy which is a lot safer than a ligation.
I do want to know what my options are, and I was curious if anyone had any insight. |

| Im all for adopting, and if my wife wanted to adopt than Id be ok with that, but I would want children of my own. Were running out of resources, over-population... this is a reason for not wanting to have a child of your own... no offense, but I think thats immensely lame. |

LOL!
Clearly we don't see eye to eye.
I personally think it is selfish to want to have your own "flesh and blood" due to maternal/paternal need to procreate and pass the gene on when there are so so many children wishing for homes. |

We see eye to neck.
Procreation is the reason we exist. But beyond that I just want children of my own. The maternal/paternal love cant be simulated, you can love the children you adopt but you will never love them as much as a child that came out of your body and carries a part of you.
The only legit reason I can understand for someone not wanting to procreate is if there is a linked genetic problem that seems to be prominent in the family line (like cancer) and you dont want to pass it on. |
