| Yes it will play burned CDs but not in the .mp3 format. The MKIII added mp3 support in addition to other features, if I am correct. |

Yes, but once you burn them to a CD in "music" rather than "data" form, they are converted to what is bascially a .wav standard. There are others here who can explain the technical aspects of this much better than myself. Basically, the .mp3 is compressed and is much smaller than the .wav file. Hence the ability to burn more than 100 .mp3s onto a single CD vs. only 15 or 16 .wav tracks.
Your burning software should allow you to specify which type of CD you are creating. I use Roxio (blah), and it will differentiate between "music" and "data". |

| I always wondered why Pioneer gave the 200s the ability to read mp3's and not the 1000 mkII's... |

maybe because they came out like 5 years after the 1000s? :wtf:
and to the thread starter: any dj who plays music downloaded from limewire or any other p2p program should be hanged from their balls. :thepirate |

no i haven't and never will. so stfu! playing tunes you've downloaded from p2p on a gig is especially a disgrace IMO, but even playing them in your bedroom IMO is a big no no and i'll never do it. :o |

How can you stand the quality of p2p downloads.
You get what you pay for and if you dont pay anything you get . |
