| I heard Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos are going to be playing together at this thing on June 4. That is crazy! |
|
|
| Skipper |
| I don't think Riccardo is playing - it's Richie, Magda, Troy Pierce and Marc Houle at Piknic elektronic on the 4th (unless there is another booking on the same day) |

Has anyone been to mutek before?
I am thinking of going yet I don't really know what to expect.

Never been, but really looking forward to it. I'm mostly just planning on attending Piknik 1 & 2 - the other events are a bonus, but those are the two I am most looking forward to.
I've been to Piknik before (not for mutek though). Expect : great vibe, friendly faces, people of all ages/backgrounds, dancing in one of the most beautiful locations in Montreal under a pretty funky statue. The park around the event is simply beautiful, the view of the river is great and all around good times.
and, if anyone is looking for a hostel to stay at - some info I compiled from trying to find a place to stay. Few hostels in mtl, some pricing info, distance from the bulk of the indoor events/etc. You'll need to click on the hostels.com link for the name of the hostel/exact address/etc, too lazy to re-dig up that info, made this for my own use a few days ago, but figured I'd share :P

it's an advanced art & music festival / exhibition .. a blend of contemporary art and modern music, as well as various other exhibits and forums ..
there are various types of festivals like this held around the world such as the BigChill and one of my favourites Sonar ..
www.sonar.es
TO actually hosts similar types of events, altho on a much smaller scale such as DigiFest and ContactPhoto .. unfortunately there tends to be a serious lack of music or the events tend to focus on a specific medium rather than a combination of multiple media..
Mutek is definately worth checking out and I hope to attend it this year as well ..
