| I still cant believe the operator is still working. They havent even suspended her. From what i understand operators arent repromanded if they send police on bogus calls. So it was her discretion that lead to no one responding. So in turn the operators discretion lead to the mothers death. |

ok, so here's a question. and i don't mean to sound like a jackass....but....
if you were in the kids shoes,, and 911 wasn't being cooperative....wouldn't you go to a neighbor's house? or call someone else?

He was only 5 years old at the time and his mother (ie. pretty much his whole world at that age) collapsed and was dying on the ground. I imagine he wasn't thinking too rationally.
If I was that kid I'd dedicate the next few years of my life to making that phone operators life miserable. |

When I was a very young, my brother and some cousins and I prank called 911 while at my grandfather's house. However just before the operator answered everyone else chickened out and ran away from the phone into other rooms leaving me holding the phone. I dropped it and ran.
The cops assumed the worst and had a squad car with two police officers rush over to the house with sirens blazing. The adults in the house were completely embarrassed and punished us accordingly.
I look back now and say "Ha! What an idiot I was."
