And what bitrate are you going to encode it after recording? If possible, record the original WAV file at 32 KHZ Sampling Rate if you're recording off FM Radio (FM Radio's highest frequency is 15.5 khz which equals 31 khz Sampling Rate but, you want to encode at 32 khz to maintain compatibility with MD recorders, DAT recorders, and other equipment that uses this frequency). The reason for this is because the lower the original Sampling rate, the more original the final encoding will sound because mp3's bitrate tries to squeeze as much sound as it can find into a certain number of bits. If you have less to squeeze, then you retain more of the original sound. So, here's the breakdown: Record an original master WAV at 32 khz Sampling Rate, then delete whatever you want to delete NOW. Next add your fade in/out to the track. Now, Normalise the result to 98%. NOW it's time for the encoding. If you recorded the broadcast at 32 khz, encode it at either 192 kbps or 224 kbps (256 isn't needed here because you recorded at only 32 khz). If you want the same quality as 44.1 khz, 256 kbps, encode this 32 khz file at 224 kbps. I hope this helps. If you encode at 192, it will be higher quality than all your other 192s because you preserved more of the original sound with 32 khz.
