Ice funked up

so I didn't post about this earlier, but I guess sat they funked up with Icey. They set the night up as an afterparty for the mayweather fight which is cool. Except for the fact that mayweather fans enjoy hip hop, not breaks. So I guess Ice put a hip hop dj on in the main room.
So Icey tries to get on at 1 like his contract states and they say no, maybe later...later on he tries, nope. He ends up leaving without playing and with a bunch o pissed off people that wanted to see him.
So his promoter vowed to not book with Ice, his promoter being Pam dj, which if true means no Paul Van Dyk, Kimball Collins, Max Graham, Ak1200, Edgar V, Baby Anne, Felix da housecat, Oscar G, Jen Lasher, Dara

because hip hop cattle are easier to lead and please. but definately a bad move on Ice's part- still plaenty of talent that will roll thru there tho |

| the earliest they can be bought out of their contract is Nov 2007, so it will be a while. And yea, they are just remodeling. |

Well it sounds like a good move for the nite, financially, without any thought of the repercussion of their action. i'm sure they made alot of hip-hoppers happy who will probably never set foot on the premise again as Ice is not known for hip-hop. they could have set up so that Icey can play in the smaller room.

I dunno the details but I bet he did.
and celebrities, Im not sure who was at ice, but the celebs at the fight...there were sooo in many. I work at the Thomas n Mack part time and was working there that night, Michael J Fox forgot his special pass, Jay Z had soem wierd special entrance, diddy, hilton sisters, and a ton more. It was a good fight ;)
but yea, sucks for ice and their reputation. but if you put it into perspective, its not that bad, one or two nights ed up out of the 3 years they have been open....not too bad. |
