Just recently, my computer's been acting weird.

I tried to download music on a Cd; both audio and data filed and it keeps saying that Windows has encountered an error in the writing process. it has happened to me more than six times in the last two weeks and im not sure if i'm supposed to buy new CDs or buy another CD burner.

Have any of you had the same problem and if so, what were your solutions?
Timski
Try some new media first... Thats the cheapest way to trouble shoot and is usually the answer to it fecking up on you...

Also make sure there is not a bogload of processes currently running on your machine that you dont need going... so close down any uncessicary programs and applcations... this includes your music/torrent programs which will be constantly writing to your hard drive.

Burning of CD's and DVD's requires the computer to have a constant power source to keep it burning at a steady speed... so if your computer is a laptop... don't unplug it and let it switch to battery power whilst burning a disc.

Last but not least make sure all your spyware and AV is up to date...

okay... so i should advance my WMP (Windows Media)

close down any unecessary programs

and have my computer run at steady speed*(my comp aint a labtop)

*what should be the selected speed?
Timski
I ment the computer shouldnt have a heap of things going while your burning a disc... Thus the burning will work at a steady speed and your machine wont need to keep thinking about doing other tasks.

should i still upgrade my media player?

Use a different CD burning program.
