internet traffic doesn't mean it's qualified traffic, there are a million things that can increase a sites traffic (ie: data miners/spyders/meta crawlers/etc)
qualified traffic relates to unique hits (often related to sales) helps with analyzing online business =) |

Quality Traffic relates to unique 'visitors' which in turn allow for a higher chance of a 'lead' (sale) assuming those visitors found the site in question relevant to their search/surfing.
Also, you can have a load of unique visitors that come in from popups bought on the traffic recycling sites that do nothing for you in terms of sales or long-term visitor loyalty - so that gets factored in too.
'Internet Traffic' in terms of alexa is only a measure based on the millions of people with the Alexa toolbar installed and their surfing habits as part of the collective. |
