| i heard a rumor that ayumi hamasaki is not really a producer but instead a vocalist and paul oakenfold does the real producing for her songs..is this true???? |

Well its a well-known fact she is "just a vocalist"... as far as the Paul Oakenfold rumor, i highly *doubt* that unless Oakie is secretly behind Above & Beyond (which i also doubt), in which case i'd have to shake his hand ;)

| I'm pretty sure Oakie isn't behind Above & Beyond. He has produced some decent stuff but nothing amazing. I do know one thing, none of us would know who Ayumi Hamasaki was if she hadn't been remixed...unless you lived in Japan.:D |

| trancedj- that's probably true, although my girlfriend actually likes her normal songs. i told her about some remixes but she's not too into trance. :p i actually heard some ayu playing when i went to taiwan a few weeks ago too. i was like woaaaaaa :D |

the remixes aren't even that good...
whatever (Ferry Corsten) is pretty nice, and M (AB) and Trauma (Dumonde) is good, but the other songs are kind of sucky sucky. |

let me clear things up.
Firstly Ayumi Hamasaki , she is a Vocalist or singer,
n she is the princess of japanese-pop, like in america they have britney/christina etc..
she does all of her lyrics but not her tunes.
Her tunes (non-trance versions) are done by unknown japanese producers.
but most of them are made by D.A.I (Do As Infinity), they are a group of singer/producers producing pop songs..
and about Above & Beyond ??? Flame Oakey, he has nothing to do with them.
Above & Beyond is P.Siljamaki, J.Grant and T.McGuinness.

A few precisions.
First Ayu is a vocalist and writes her own lyrics.
It's true that most of her tracks have been composed by other japanese groups or artists like DAI (Do as infinity), HAL..., excepted Connected (by Ferry Corsten as you all know).
But what you seem not to know is that now she makes her own tunes, under the nickname of CREA. Most of the tracks of her last album have been composed by Ayu herself, and she only lets other people make her arrangements...
BTW I don't think she really cares about the different remixes, excepted the acoustic orchestra ones... She's nothing to do with Paul Oakenfold (100% sure about that). Her producer is Max Matsuura and has always been.
So globally I agree with xenderz. I've also been a great Ayu fan for a long time, and I really love her original tunes (I've got all her CDs...!)
