National Front Disco deleted without notice?

A thread I posted earlier was deleted and I can't work out why and nobody has messaged me to say why either.

The thread by the way was about a rather interesting song called 'National Front Disco' by Morrissey. It's a cautionary tale about a son who is lost to the National Front (a racist group) and their misguided opinions. It is something that has been debated much over since it's release in the 1990s and is an interesting topic.

Apparently one of the moderators here is a member of the National Front and doesn't wan't their racist ideas to be derided... or maybe they aren't racist but ignorantly coming to a conclusion over something without researching it first.

So with that said, what are peoples views on this track?

Saw me banging on the sofa
(wasn't me)
I even had her in the shower
(wasn't me)
She even caught me on camera
(wasn't me)
She saw the marks on my shoulder
(wasn't me)
Heard the words that I told her
(wasn't me)
Heard the screams getting louder
(wasn't me)
She stayed until it was over

I posted the name of the song and invited people to discuss it. Not everyone is from the United States and plenty know about the song and are able to talk about it without me prejudicing the discussion from the start by giving my opinion.

As for calling it spam, what exactly did you think I was trying to promote?

if it's not an important enough topic for you to take 2 seconds to give your opinion then i'm going to delete it...

"without me prejudicing the discussion from the start by giving my opinion."

People have a tendency to open up if the tone has not already been set. Americans aren't best known for their subtlety I guess.

i saw what you said and it sounds like a cop out. that thread sat there for a good while before it got deleted without any posts. my guess is because no one knew what the hell you were on about. even if you don't want to bias the thread with your own thoughts on the song right away...you could've atleast thrown in that...hey this is a morrissey song...it's about this...what do you think?

National Front Disco is hardly a commonly used term, it could only mean one thing. Anyone who knew what it meant and wanted to talk about it could identify the subject easily and discuss it, those who don't know what National Front Disco is aren't likely to have an opinion about it. Also, you still haven't said what you thought I was commercially promoting with the thread, if it really was so lacking in content what's the worry? You also could have messaged me so I knew who deleted it and the reasons for doing so, but as I understand it you are very much into editing posts without giving reason. This situation now is hardly ideal for anyone.
