| lol at tu_face for making my computer almost freeze due to the excessive use of gif animation in his signature...damn my PII 350 mhz! Anyways, i always thought techno was a very respected and unique sub - genre of electronica. I am totally unfamiliar with the artists that produce techno (Mauro Picotto maybe?), but i know for a fact there is a specific crowd for it. Whenever i shop at my local record store, i notice a nice section of techno records. I dont know if this helps in anyones arguments, but i think that techno deserves respect and its own right as a distinct genre of music and not an umbrella term for anything dancy. Peace |

sorry if my use of wording displeased you, next time ill be sure to use the right words, i never knew it would hit such a soft spont in people, but it DID show that i DO know what techno is so dont call me ignorant.
have some respect for where I live... things are different here.

[edit]i also apologize for EVERY us citizen who dosnt live on the east coast where there is a scene (kinda). the rest of us live with a bunch of joans who listen to rnb, pop, and rap. we cant listen to all kinds of electronica on the radio and we definately dont have the same exposure. why the hell do you think i even signed up here??? yes, to learn more about "electronic music" and expose myself to new stuff...
so, ussr junkie, i dont think i deserve to be flamed for what I said. it was an honest mistake on the forums and in MN it would go by unnoticed because thats how it is and thats how we talk. no one knows anything about any music aside from rap and pop so how can i get generalizations like that out of my vocabulary??? you dont need to be an ass about stupid like this anyways.[/edit] |

IMO techno is crap. I dont like it. And that is why i am at www.tranceaddict.com
and not www.technoaddict.com
If you cant find a decent techno site, why dont you start one
Go on flame me, just to prove how many more people you can annoy

i dont remember how i first got into trance, i think i started downloading happy hardcore, and then i went to mp3.com and was downloading stuff from there, i think after that i went into server rooms on aol where i started to get better stuff, also about alice deejay, it didnt used to be cheese, as i recall it being on ferry corstens trance nation 2, and ussrjunkie, take it easy, so what if his community calls electronic music techno, do you have to get so angry, you need to go and smoke out and chill,

| Oh, and just to put somit at reast, my mate had a go at me for saying picotto was techno. Lol, so i am no expert. I learnt my lesson about techno deffinition 6 months ago. Everyone has the right to listen to what ever music, be it cheese, trance, techno or pop. But it is annoying when fools try and act like they know when they dont, but sometimes people make mistakes. You have to learn which is which. :D |

Hmmm......Ive thought alot about whats cheese and not.....for me its nopt a overplayed track....its a trakc with a catchy melody...bass and some drums.....Just simple and.....boring.......
I love some cheesey track...Like Better off alone.......For me Robert Miles - Children is NOT cheese although it is\was overplayed on the radio and TV.......That track is not simple and boring to me.....it has alot of Energy.....
I consider alot of trax ive only heard once on the internet cheese to.
Just because its cheese doesnt mean its bad as some seems to think...
What i dont like is that Music (Escpecially trance) is becoming such a big market. Ppl starts thinking "Why make good music when i can make music that brings $$$$" If you know what i mean?
I still cant understand producers who is against Mp3īs (Lange and PvD for example)......I dont know how mush cash ive spent on trance only because of Mp3 but thats a totally different discussion.....
Ok cheese can make ppl like trance but it also ruins the Trance music for us..... Ppl thinks that Trance sounds like the trax on radio.... (DJ Alligator, Public Domain, Aquagen, Warp Brothers) and then when i say i listen to trance most ppl laugh at me.'
I say keep Trancemusic for the interested and for the lovers. Dont let the radio overplay it and make it "cool" or "hot".
