Anyone shop HTFR, but live in the UK???

I was curious about something for those of you who live in the UK and shop Hard To Find Records... do you have to pay additional VAT tax on top of the prices listed, or is VAT included in what they show as the price?
I was curious since I shouldn't have to pay VAT because I'm in the US, and I've never noticed there being the VAT reduction on their checkout like I see on Juno, Chemical, etc.
Any info is appreciated. |

| Personally, unless you've seen the vinyl itself before buying, i'd avoid HTFR. read in I think the dj booth or one of those 4 subforums about numerous problems with the site, from illegally pressed poor quality mp3s to warped records to no records to bad service. be very careful if using |

i even went to their store just cus i was in the area last year and it sucks...their records are in POOOOOOOOOOR condition! |

ok, let me rephrase... i'm confused about the fact that the price on their WEB SITE for a record might be say 5.99, would that be the price that someone using the site in the UK pays, or is VAT added? nowhere that i've found on their site suggests the listed prices are with or without tax - and i have a suspicion that I'm paying VAT tax that I don't need to be paying (on records that are already expensive to begin with).
thus far i've only had a problem with the condition of ONE record (it was split in two) and they replaced it immediately. new choons (which is 98% of the business I do with them) i've never had a problem with (except the price, which is usually a pound higher than Juno. |

Try emailing them, I'm sure they will answer your question for you.
I ordered a cd wallmatt from there a few weeks back and they sent me a cd wallet :conf: Had lots of problems with them as many people have stated, A place to stay away from imo. |

I did, and got no reply. I'm sure that if they're overcharging me, they're not going to say that they're not taking off the VAT like they should. |

I just found this in the terms and conditions part of the site.
21. IMPORT DUTY & TAXES
It is your responsibility as the customer to pay all applicable customs fees and taxes for your country. If you refuse to pay these charges then your order may be abandoned and you will lose your goods as well as your money. These taxes are only applicable for non UK and non European Union countries.
I also had a look at my order statement from when I ordered the Cd wallmatt and there is no mention of vat being added before the final total of the order so if you don't pay tax then you are being conned because the price seems to already include the VAT.

| got a response, but still trying to sort it out. I created a profile with a UK address to see if there was any difference, and it shows the same thing either way, no VAT being taken out or added on (ie the price charged is what's listed, plus shipping of course). |

if you ever have the opportunity to head to the actual shop i suggest you take time to study where your hard earned moolah is going each and every week.
Not the damned slave labour staff wages, but the smokin' hot ferrari's and porsche's sitting outside from the management.
Not to mention the illegal pressing that goes into operation to create "classic" restocks. |

| Visited them once whilst in brum for Crasher NEC, didnt go back on any subsequent nec's. Wasn't too impressed though i did pick up a copy of Spectrum - Air Red Rip, for 6 notes if i remember correctly. Only thing i ever ordered online was a djm500 donkeys years ago. Their prices are extortionate. |

I could really care less what they drive and how much $$$ they're making, so long as it's not from non-UK customers paying VAT tax they're not liable for - and pocketing that extra $$$.
If I don't get a satisfactory answer, I may be checking with a local tax office in the UK to have them investigate. |
