The only music geek magazine I subscribe to and actually read on a regular basis is Sound On Sound. I really feel it's the only one of its kind that's actually worth reading each month. There's also Computer Music and Future Music, which are essentially the exact same thing. I cannot stress this enough. Exact. Same. Magazine. Same reviews, same interviews, same news. If you're going to buy one (which is okay every once in a while, but every month it just becomes a rip-off at the U.S. standard of $14) don't buy the other. MusicTech is more respectable, but usually isn't worth the money.
If you're just starting out, reading a mag like Computer Music is actually a great way to get into it - just don't take everything at face value. Always research before making a purchase.

Yeah the Ads are def. killer. they def ruin the mag. Only reason i was asking is because i picked up a magazine in a local Sam Ash and just browsed thru it and saw some interesting information or tips.. Figured maybe it would be a good thing to subscribe to. Its not about the information being free online or not, but something i can always learn from and have it as a reference...

I am currently Using Logic 5.5 for PC. I am looking for a Book if possible to help me get the most out of the program as far as tips and tricks.. http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/1870775333/#top. This book recently came out from PC publishing, But i believe its more based on Logic 7 for MAC.. Looking for a book like this for Logic 5.5 PC or something that can relate to this..

If anyone knows of anything that would really help with Logic 5.5. I do have a book called a Users Guide to Logic. Published by the same company..

ps. i actually don't mind ads in these mags, cause its cool to check out a lot of new equipment that you may not of otherwise seen.

Sound on Sound is by far and away the best. They also have a VERY strict editorial policy of advertising not influencing reviews.

This I know 1st hand.

As for Computer Music and Future Music being similar, they're both owned by the same parent company (Future Publishing out of Bath, UK, and there is a large amount of overlap between editorial departments.
