D12 Member Found Dead

Proof, whose real name was Deshaun Holton, was a longtime friend of Eminem, who, along with Bizarre and other rappers from Detroit, formed the hip-hop collective D12.
The friendship and collaboration was part of the group's commitment to look out for one another's careers.
"There was like a personal agreement we made when we first got together years ago in Detroit," Eminem once told the LA Times. "If any of us made it, we'd bring the others along and do something together. Everyone thought Proof would be the one to make it."
D12's debut album, Devil's Night, dropped in 2001 and was followed up with the 2004 release D12 World. In 2005, Proof released his acclaimed solo debut, the musically eclectic Searching for Jerry Garcia. Offered on his own Iron Fist Records, the set showed a surprisingly versatile Proof surrounded by the cream of the crop of Interscope artists and speaking on topics such as the murder of John Lennon and suicide.
Proof has proved to be the second founding D12 member to be shot to death. Fellow D12'er Bugz was shot and killed in May 1999 during a picnic at Detroit's Belle Isle Park.
Another rapper from Eminem's Detroit clique, Obie Trice, was shot and wounded this past New Year's Eve. |

| someone in my town died too this morning, I didn't know him/her at all. Infact hasnt even seen him/her. Oh well.... |
