Hey guys...
I need some advice...
I'm used to produce music with pc (fl6 + vsts), but I want to start play music in my church and I was wondering how I could do this:
I want to buy an access virus classic or any synthesizer without a keyboard (I'm accepting recomendations, please), to play with a midi controller, how I do this ?
I dont want use the pc, only the synth and the midi controller, can somebody explain me this? I'm glad if u wanna recommend me some cool setups for this, if possible, not expensive...
thanks in advance... :D |

It's fairly simple really. A midi-keyboard has midi in & out, a synthesizer also has midi in & out but also audio outputs.
So basicly connect a midi-cabel from the midi-keyboard's midi-out to the synthesizers midi-in. Then use some regular audio-cables (in most cases tele, or converted RCA's) to connect the synthesizers output-sound (left & right) to the mixer of whatevers connected to the speakers.

The M-Audio Ozone has an built in soundcard. If you are only going to play it with the virus, it's not nessecary.
If you want to use it with FL also its a plus.
I would have choose a keyboard with more keys. You cant play much with 25 keys... Or atleast you will regret not buying one with more keys..
Hope it helps... |

dang, alot of you catholics (I assume) have some weird music in your church :p But I guess it's better than what we have, since that's just organ music and a quire... :) (I'm classified as a protestant, I guess, but not exactly religious...)
(I don't mean to be offensive in any way..) |

hehe, it was not ofensive mate, no problem ;)
im classified like protestant too, im from the presbiterian church...
we are very eclectic with music, we play lots of styles, but im thinking in introduce something more "electronic music" since i like eletronic music, trance? hehe , and our keyboard player is very good, but i want fill the sound with more elements, atmospheres or some other euphorics elements, like pads or leads...
our church is not like the old ones that uses taht boring organ or piano, hehe... not being offensive too... its just about taste...
