***REVIEW***
Didn't want to create a new thread, so i just bumped this one for reviews.
PROS:
So i get to Vision right as DJ Inphinity [at least i figured it was him - it was like 11pm?] poured out Moonlight Party, and from there on the whole night was a pretty good experience. great set by DJ Inphinity - a lot of stuff i recognized.
Gabriel & Dresden's set was pretty good - there was a lot of great stuff on there from their upcoming album and a lot of things i didn't recognize but sounded damn good anyways. and even tho i really don't like Tracking Treasure Down....it was pretty cool to hear it in the club. Dust in the Wind was a good opener too, and Let Go as a closer/encore [i couldn't ID the track before that - or at least i forgot what it was now].
CONS:
The set up at Vision. wtf why weren't they on the normal 2nd floor DJ booth? made the dancefloor smaller by using that "stage" on the stairs as the dj booth. i like to be able to see the DJ from the dancefloor. and there were these 4 guys and 1 girl who were blocking the view almost the whole time!! :whip: :whip: i had to go up to the 2nd floor to even see G&D. if it was anyone from here, just a friendly tip - it's nice when you move and let others catch a glance.
someone knocked my glasses off my face! damn! :whip: fist pumping action is great and all , but ffs watch yourself! i found my glasses on the dancefloor right away, but a lense popped out. and so i'm scrambling around, looking and feeling like a dumbass trying to find it. luckily one of my buddies found it right away [by his shoe], so i fixed it right away. but still annoying that it even happened.
but yeah, wish i could have really seen more of G&D from the floor, instead of those people on the stairs blocking the view. and it wasn't even until about 4am or so when the floor started to clear out a little bit.
all in all a great night, i thought. even went to the mickey d's afterwards to grab some grub.
i've got that wonderful ringing in my ears, and it was a great way to go out w/ a bang before i leave the chicagoland for active duty and the durty souf. |

| they always use this set up for G&D.....i dont know why...maybe they need to room...or maybe they need to be able to go backstage during their set to toke up....or maybe they dont draw enough people to warrant the normal set up.... |

I have seen G&D in the "normal" 2nd level DJ booth at Vision before. In fact, that's where I saw them for the first time. It's only in recent months (this year) that ppl have been consistently on the 1st floor. I have to agree, its a letdown for me when they are on the 1st floor - I much rather see em on the 2nd. I wonder if its security concerns or something. Or, maybe they think its more of a "people's show" if they put em on the 1st floor. Anyway, as long as we can hear the music, right. :) |

Josh & Dave prefer to be down on the stage vs in the booth. Which is most of the reason they were down there I would imagine.
(Did not go, just thought I would comment on that query). |

They're playing where i live on sunday (Dublin, Ireland) Can't wait to see them as you don't get dj's like Gabriel and Dresden popping their heads into my neck of the woods too often!
Should be fun as it's the night after Robbie Rivera.. Going to both, dunno how i'm gonna cope! Think i'll definitely be bringing out my Elacin Ear plugs though!! The ringing would be insane otherwise! |
