Never heard a DJ set of his, but his productions (as SVD and his aliases) are, IMO, exceptionally overrated and borderline nauseating at times.

so true. to me this is the proof in what kinda state trance is atm. If u gotta hype someone like svd this much, he is really nothing special imo. And i DO like good techtrance.

(only speaking here about his productions, didnt even knew he was a DJ)

I agree, I pretty much HATE is productions, but his DJ sets are ACE, as a producer he sucks, but as a dj he owns...

And oddly enough, it seems like there are a LOT of SvD fans who feel this way... I don't think I've ever heard a bad word about one of his DJ sets, but his productions on the other hand... :nervous:

i loved Purple Haze - Adrenaline (as formulaic as it is)... other than that i can't really say i dig his productions.

i've listened to one DJ set of his (just to see what all the hype was about) and i felt it was just too unorganized, all over the place, and didn't flow very well... but it could have just been one bad set or the fact that i don't really get into trance anymore.

I heard him live last weekend, killer set from start to finish. I truly like most of his productions also.
DJ Nickazz
Don't like his own productions. His remixes though are pretty good: One solid wave, breathe, the beat goes on and ofcourse s.o.s(but overrated)etc.
Didn't know he was a DJ too. Downloading his sets now.

rememeber none of these sets are "live" they are all promo or radio shows, very different kettle of fish to "live" performances at clubs/events/raves

Brad Copeland is the next Luke Fair imo but he's more talented and he can drink young luke under the table (they are friends!)

But SvD live is actually much better! And he literally does mix prog trance, prog house, breaks, tribal, etc etc in his set and makes it flow oh so well.

I personally love his productions. I just like that style. And his tracks are played by tons of DJs out there so it's not like no one else likes them. I love me some Pumpkin!

But as a DJ he's excellent as well. After seeing him live in January, I literally started texting people how I thought he was going to be the next big thing (supposing he gets the right management/PR). He's a rare breed of being a producer making big tracks plus being a damn good DJ too. Especially considering how he's able to DJ with all the styles he includes in his sets and making it flow so well.

I only like his productions under Purple Haze.
