yeah scott i remember listening to ABC radio about CSIRAC presentation and they explained how it helped music production too.
the stupid bitch who was with red kept on talking about rave etc and went beyond the point of what they had to say. she had know clue whatso ever. they tried to say in an easy wasy that this has helped us put our music into digital files etc from classical to electronic.

without CSIRAC being able to perform a mathematical Algorithm of that sound who knows where we may be now with music production in general.

anyway i listened to the sound on the radio and it was pretty cool to hear the saw wave they produced. the reason why they had to make a sound was because when the computer was finished its task the guys didnt know when it had finished so that helped them.

Reading this history has made me think Kraftwerk.

It was also an Aussie who developed the black box flight recorder, but due to the safety of flight in this country, and the lack of air crashes, he was unable to get support, and had to go overseas to have it implemented.
Also the CSIRO has come up with a glue which is able to glue carbon fibre together, which is a potential replacement for the skin of aircraft, as there will be no need to pot rivet the aluminium together, and also reduce the weight. It's the future
